Since China joined WTO, a situation of fierce competition emerged in the retailing market. But foreign enterprise groups represented by Wal-Mart of USA and Carrefour SA of France took over Chinese market one after another. These multinational groups compared with the Chinese retail enterprises, apart from its advantages in scale and capital strength, it is more important on the differences in the management, especially in supply chain management. In this paper, we take Wal-Mart and Shanghai Lianhua as examples, which have representations in the implementation of supply chain management, exploring the gap between domestic and international supply chain management in the supermarkets, as well as the measures and proposals to shorten the gap.
